                                              VOYAGE OF SYMBOL

An excellent life starts with God. For keeping me till this time to put this write-up down is a blessing to me. I thank God for
His grace and everything, both pleasant and unpleasant. It is said that “life is not a bed of roses”, even roses themselves, as
beautiful as they are, have thorns. The higher one gets, the more difficult the challenge.

It's just happening in a flash. I have seen many yearbooks even from other schools, wishing that I was the one graduating
from secondary school, suddenly here I am. Hmmm! My life in GISS, Wow! What an experience! I came into this great
citadel of learning in JS2, on 27th September, 2014. I was so anxious about coming to
this school because I heard that here was obviously much better than my former school.
Coming into this school, its environment amazed me. I saw lots of things which could
not be found in my former school. That day, I said to myself, “I bet my academic Coming into this
            performance will be better here”.
                                                                                     school, its
                                                                                     environment
Secondary school is a stage in one's life that contains lots of memories. I remember my
JS 3, we were anxious and curious because we were so eager to move on to the senior amazed me. I saw
level. 2k19 set! What a set! Well, my senior stage was full of challenges, especially in lots of things
SS 3, when teachers began to see us as unserious students. It got to a point that all their
efforts to instill discipline in us became annoying. I later realized that they were doing which could not
those things for our own benefit. I saw this school as a prison, not able to do what be found in my
someone felt like doing at any time.
                                                                                     former school.
The Citizenship and Leadership Training Programme we attended was full of fun. I am That day, I said to
glad that I went through the programme, though it was stressful. All the same, I came myself, “I bet my
back with a badge. That programme helped to instill self-discipline in me. I remember
the various tasks we had to do: mountaineering, martial art (self-defense), rock- academic
climbing and assailing and so on. At least I am happy that I participated in some performance will
activities in this school. I thank the school's management for creating such an
opportunity for us to feel what it meant to go on camping. be better here”.

Though I did not start from JS 1, I am happy to be part of this set 2k19. There were times
of tears, laughter, stupidity, craze, serving punishments, which were very annoying. It's
still like a dream to me that I am graduating because I remember how I was when I joined this set. I have to blow my trumpet
because I am part of this set.

This paragraph is highly reserved for my parents, Chief and Lolo P.J.C. Nwokafor. Oh! What a blessing you are! I am so
happy that you are my parents. I am grateful to God for blessing me this way through you. I want to use this golden
opportunity to thank you for what you have done; for bringing me into this great institution and making it possible for me to
stay till my final year, even though things were hard. I promise you that your words and advice to me will never be taken for
granted. Once again, I say thank you so much. I pray that the Almighty God will continue to bless you.
Walking through the crooked path of this secondary school stage was not easy at all. My stay here would not have been
memorable if not for my wonderful set mates: Mimi (sidie), Ijeoma (closie), my wonderful seatie Vivian, Chidimma Ezeh,
Emeka Chidimma, Marchie, Chinemerem, Adaeze, Blessing, Chinasa, Nzube, Ana-B, Chimdindu, Kosi, Mamie, Oluoma,
Nancy, Ona, Akuoma, Uzoma, Ursula, Joy, Ebube, Sharon, Kosi, Ikpe-Kalu, Jones, Divine, Osuala, Somachi, Ikechukwu,
Orkaeze, Chukwuemeka and others, I say thank you.

To my junior friends who I am leaving behind, especially my younger brother and my other siblings at home, remember
what you stand for and always be yourself no matter what. Reach for the stars so if you fall, you land on the clouds.
Hardwork pays. Make memories so that you will have something good to write on your page one day. Cherish your
friendships. Let GISS pass through you and don't just pass through GISS. Leave a legacy behind. Love God. Stay focused.
            Have fun. Roll safe.
To the school management and teachers, especially those that taught me, I say thank you very much for making me whom I
am today. I pray that this school will continue to grow higher. As I leave this great citadel of learning into the world, I shall
prove that I am a True Grundtvigian.
Finally, I came, I saw, I conquered. The Lord has been my strength. It will be good in the end, if one has faith. I have cleared it
all. I will miss the good and bad times I had with my set mates. To those who could not continue with us, know that you are
still part of this set. It's too hard to say this but I have to say GOODBYE as I go into the next phase of my life!

            GREAT GRUNDTVIGIANS!
            LONG LIVE 2K19 SET!
            LONG LIVE GISS!!
            LONG LIVE NIGERIA!!!
“I enjoyed my time in GISS, so you should. Make the best use of your time while you are here so you will have no regrets. No
            regrets. BLESS UP!”
