THE ULTIMATE GIFT ARTICLE
“ he Ultimate Gift”, a book by Jim Stovall, now also a movie, tells the story of a man, Jack,
whose rich grandfather had left him an enviable inheritance. But to have the inheritance, he
Thad to pass twelve tests, or rather “gifts” that his grandfather had set for him before his death. If
he failed one or didn't complete any, the inheritance would never be his. Jack went on a life-changing
quest to obtain the ultimate gift: A life lived to the fullest.
These twelve gifts were inspirational
attributes that should be applied that Learning is inevitable, but what
should be applied to our lives. They matters is what we choose to learn.
include: We should learn to be good, kind,
caring, hardworking and models for
The gift of Hard work: People who have other members of the society.
never had to work, will never know the
satisfaction that comes from a good day's
work that is well done. Being able to
complete a task brings fulfillment to one. In this life, we have to work hard and strive to succeed.
The gift of Friendship: The word “friend” is too carelessly thrown around. Friends are people who are
reliable, helpful, dependable in time of distress and generally a good companion. Basically, your
friends define who you are. They become your second family, if not your main one.
The gift of a Day: Life is too short. A pessimist may say, “We are all living to die one day.” For the fact
that nobody knows when that day would be, one should endeavour to live each day like its one's very
last and make every single moment worthwhile. We should grab every opportunity that comes our
way and make the best of it.
The gift of Money: In this life, money is placed on a high pedestal and all people think about is
amassing wealth. But most people lose themselves in their quest for money when the cost is quite dear.
People need to learn the true value of money.
The gift of Problems: Dilemmas. Issues that batter us continuously, hurdles we have to jump every
day in this race called life. The lane is definitely not smooth. But with a determination driving us on
and God as our everlasting coach, there is no obstacle we can't overcome and no mountain we can't
climb.
The gift of Family: Many of us are born into good families. Some of us have to create these families
ourselves. No matter what, everyone belongs to a family which would stand by its members through
thick and thin and help in the moulding of persons to whom they should be.
The gift of Laughter: There are so many things to be happy about. Even being alive is a reason. A life
without laughter is extremely dull. We should pay attention to the joys of life and laugh more.
The gift of Dreams: We should all have dreams which we should chase relentlessly, even to our
deathbeds. As we go on with life, these dreams should grow and expand. They are our drive in life.
They give us reason to keep moving on.
The gift of Giving: giving is something that should come naturally to each and every one of us.
Knowing that someone thought well of you to get you something is gratifying. Giving should be done
without one expecting to receive, and truly from one's heart.
