Don't be a waste of opportunity

Parents and guardians do their best to provide their children and wards with shelter, clothing and
protection as well as good quality education. But at the end of the day, when we give them
attitude and we are undisciplined and turn in low/poor grades, are we truly appreciative of the
huge investment on us as kids?

Sometimes I ask myself, isn't it quite queer and peculiar how selfish we children can be when all
we do is demand for more without even showing any sign of gratitude. To be honest we all have
done this to our parents at one point in time or the other and never realize how much it hurts our
parents when they invest millions to put us in good schools and at the end of the day get bad
grades. If you ask me, it's very wrong and unfair to our parents. How would you feel if you invest
your money on a project and that project fails?

In essence, my point is, we should try as much as possible to impress our parents and make
them proud because it gives them a sense of achievement. So pay attention in class, study hard
and focus so you can show your parents that you.re not a waste of opportunity, and resources
and you're certainly not a big for nothing because as a popular saying goes “you don't realize
the worth of something until you've lost it.
