LIBRARY MISSION STATEMENT AND OBJECTIVES

The key mission of the College Library is to support the teaching,

learning, research, extension service, and in the promotion of quality life of

the people of Zamboanga del Sur and in the region. It is committed to provide
accessible, cost effective, and innovative information services and programs.

The College Library exists to support the research, teaching and

curricular needs of faculty, graduate and undergraduate students of the JHCSC

community. Other current and emerging technologies will be provided as
funding permits. User needs in the area of library service will be assessed

periodically, and materials and programs will be provided to meet such needs.

To achieve this goal, the Library will:
❖ Build collections in print and non-print materials of to support current

and future needs of the college.

❖ Provide online information sources and services.

❖ Provide quality services and seek continuous improvement.

❖ Provide a safe and secure physical environment which encompasses the
best traditional library practices and state-of-the-art resources and

study facilities.

❖ Listen and respond to customers’ needs promptly and efficiently.
❖ Treat all Library customers with fairness and courtesy.

❖ Provide appropriate training courses and guidance to enable each reader

make the most productive use of all information resources.

❖ Co-operate with resource sharing, research and other initiatives at
regional, national and international levels.

The library’s manual has been prepared by the college librarian
in collaboration with the Library Advisory Committee. It was

then approved by the Board of Trustees on January 30, 2017.
