D. Mode of Instruction Delivery with the used of various learning platforms
All faculty members are advised to design their syllabi to accommodate students’ learning
preferences. They shall employ appropriate teaching strategies accordingly. Students may
choose from among the following options upon enrolment:
1. Online Learning
This is for students with gadgets and internet access. All aspects of instruction will
be done via an online platform. A combination of asynchronous (like readings and
assignments which can be submitted at designated dates) and synchronous (online
classes using Zoom, Google Meet, Facebook Group video chat, etc.) will be used.
The main course content, like course outline/syllabus and other instructional
materials, are made available at the JHCSC Learning Management System (LMS).
Students may also submit their outputs via the College LMS.
Other online platforms such as editing apps (ex. Canva), social media, and instant
messaging apps like FB messenger may also be used in case the LMS becomes
unavailable (ex. Maintenance checks and other unforeseen events) and or as part of the
course, requirements (ex. Advocacy campaigns via social media and or research
surveys). All students who will be utilizing the LMS will go through a general
orientation on the features and usage of the platform before the commencement of
online learning.
2. Blended Learning
This modality combines limited f2f and remote teaching and learning. Some of the
course content will be delivered via online methods (synchronous and asynchronous),
and some require limited f2f sessions. Students will still be required to come to class at
scheduled times for assessments and other supervised learning activities.
The implementation of the limited f2f classes will be for the major subjects and the
minor subjects or General Education Course (GEC) subjects will be in online learning
modalities.
