Unpleasant situations can be created by the misbehavior of a student at the bus stops and the
school system cannot be responsible for damage or injury in such situations. PARENTS ARE
RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR STUDENT UNTIL THE BUS ARRIVES AT THE STOP.

                                                   Changes in Bus Stops
Allegan County Transportation may have to change the bus stop locations as needed to better
accommodate services needs. If a student requires transportation to another bus stop within
the school’s regular routes, appropriate arrangements must be made in advance with the
Outlook Academy office. No student will be transported by ACT to a location that is not on the
regular schedule. If a student is not picked up at the regular schedule, the ACT driver may take
your son or daughter to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department to await your arrival.

                                             Calling the Transportation Office
If a student will not be attending classes, it is necessary that the parent contact the
Transportation Office and the Outlook Academy Office at least 1hour before pickup. Not
contacting ACT is considered a no show. If you accumulate 3 no shows, you will be
suspended from the bus for 3 days. Such cooperation gives the drivers the opportunity to
make appropriate adjustments in their routes, not arriving late or early for other students. You
may leave a message at the Transportation Office at any time. The telephone number at the
Transportation Office is 269-673-4229 or 877-788-2287; Fax 269-673-2190.

                                                    Inclement Weather

Parents and students should listen to local radio and television stations for school delays or
cancellations, and early dismissals. School closings will follow the same schedule as Allegan
Public Schools. School closing information will be carried by the following stations: Radio
               WQXC (100.9), WOOD (105.7), WQLR (106.5), WKZO (590), WGRD (97.9), & WCUZ (101.3).
               Television: WOTV-8, WUHQ-41, WZZM-13, & WWMT-3.

*Outlook will not be listed or announced. Allegan Public School’s situation for school delays or
cancellation due to weather will also determine Outlook’s.

                                                Accidents and Breakdowns
The Allegan County Transportation Department has an excellent safety and maintenance
record, but accidents and breakdowns do occur and in the event of either of these situations,
the driver will instruct the students exactly what they must do.
Breakdowns usually are not of a serious nature. If a breakdown does occur, another bus will be
used and the students are transferred to it to continue on their way.

Accidents involving school buses and other vehicles are rarely very serious. A greater time
delay may result, however, since the police will have to be contacted and they will want the
names of all of the students on the bus. In the event of an accident, the Transportation Office
will be notified and kept informed of the situation.

                                                     Radios on Buses
Most buses are equipped with radios for emergency purposes. If a bus develops mechanical
problems or one of the students needs emergency treatment while being transported to or from
