PRESIDENT'S

CORNER

Love and Blessings from the 100 UMW members of FUMC Temple. We currently have

5 Circles who are actively engaged in service projects to benefit our community. I am Ilene
Miller, President of this wonderful group of Christian women and would like to tell you more

about myself and our ladies here in Temple.
I was raised in a small Presbyterian Church in Mexia, Texas, but became a Methodist when

Mike and I married.I grew up with two wonderful examples of strong women who
were committed to community service, my Mother and my Aunt. I have been a UMW

member since I retired from my job as an Extension Educator in 2001. I had
two wonderful mentors, Lorene Tomblin and Jean Nolan, to guide me and answer

numerous questions about UMW I will be forever grateful for their patience and leadership
in our church. I am currently a full time volunteer and enjoy the opportunity to serve others.

We Welcome opportunities for you to join us , Our Epiphany Brunch is an annual event each
January. We extend an open invitation to each of you to join us for fellowship and inspiration.

In 2018, the Brunch will be held on Saturday, January 13th in our Worship Center.
Guest speaker is our District Superintendent, Brad Brittian. His topic is “A New Day”. Please

mark your calendars right now and make plans to join us for this special event from 9:00 am
to Noon.
