A WORD FROM OUR SOUTH DISTRICT VICE PRESIDENT

Greetings. My husband and I moved to Temple last January
from Mesa, AZ. While there I served as Conference Vice
President, as well as Conf Spiritual Growth. I have held V
every positon in my local organizations except Treasurer and
     Secretary.

You can draw your own conclusions about those omissions.
We have two beauful daughters. Our older daughter Wendy also moved to Temple and is a
Kindergarten teacher in TISD. Karyn lives in the Dallas area and works for a
law rm. Our two grandchildren also live in the Dallas area and go to college. The rest
of my family also lives in Texas.
My two sisters and I were raised in the Texas Panhandle. It's great to be back home again in Texas.

We also lived in Maryland for 20 years. I rered from the University of Maryland as the Director of
Academic Advising for the College of Educaon. I also have a Masters
in Educaon from the Univ of Maryland specializing in English and Speech
Communicaons. My passion is wring and I facilitated a class in Creave Wring at our
     retirement park in Arizona.
My husband worked with the Dept of Health and Human Services as a Computer Specialist. His
specialty was quality control for the department's Personnel

and Payroll system. He has done some beautiful stained glass pictures, but when we
moved he had just nished having his 6th hip surgery and needed a
knee replacement, which happened in May. He hasn't even had a chance to get his
stained glass started again. There are sll boxes that need to be unpacked, but it will
      all get done.
I'm so passionate about our UMW reading program that I led a book discussion using

our book choices for the last 14 years. We all learned things as well as
reading books out of our comfort zones. Try it, you might nd it works well for you.
I am also a Lay Servant Minister, having completed my cercaon last fall as a Cered
Lay Speaker,or as Pulpit Supply as known in the CTC. Having been selected to be in the rst training f
or our 150th Anniversary celebraon, I would always be available to
give a program about our heritage for your organizaon.
I feel blessed to be here in Temple and I look forward to meeng each of you. My being here is a God

thing. I'll tell you the story one of these days.
                        Donna Jensen
