Page 89 - Racing Toward Judgement
P. 89
When there is moral rot within a nation, its gov-
ernment topples easily; but with honest, sensible
leaders there is stability.
A wicked ruler will have wicked aides on his
staff. When rulers are wicked, their people are too;
but good men will live to see the tryant's downfall.
(Proverbs 28:2;29: 12,16 LB)
S. Three Reasons Why America Won't Listen
It is very difficult for America to accept a judgment
message, for three reasons:
1 Too Many Crackpots Preach Doom. Sophisticated
minds are so closed and cluttered, God cannot reach
them with His warnings of judgment. Therefore, simple-
minded people hear the Word and proclaim it. God
chooses, even in judgment, to confound the wise by us-
ing the foolish things of this world:
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the
world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen
the weak things of the world to confound the
things which are mighty; And base things of the
world, and things which are despised, hath God
chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to
nought things that are: That no flesh should glory
in his presence.
(1 Corinthians 1:27-29 KJV)
Perhaps that's why so many babes in thinking are
warning of judgment. God will warn the nation,, even if
He has to raise up a motley army to do it.
One of the biggest laughs in New York City has to do
with the judgment warnings of two little elderly ladies.
Each week, for years, they have been chauffeur-driven
in their Rolls Royce to Times Square. The chauffeur
parks the limousine, opens the trunk, and hands each
lady a sign. One reads, "The end of the world is near,"
