Because of the Inspector General

A big mess because of the Inspector General: it started last week, when police Inspector General
Roni Alsheikh talked at the lawyers' conference, and (they) asked him about the problems the police
have with Ethiopian suspects. Alsheikh said that all over the world immigrants are more involved in
crime, and so when a police officer sees an immigrant in the street, it's natural that he would suspect
him more than another person. Many people in the Ethiopian community are angry at Alsheikh
because of what he said, and because he called Ethiopians immigrants and not Olim. Now the
Inspector General has to apologize to the Ethiopian Israelis and explain what he actually wanted to
say.
