Now, that we have studied the family chart and the relation
prepositions (my, your…), we can talk and describe many
people. Go back to the family chart and write a short story
about your relatives using the following example:
Shalom, my name is Yoel קֹו ְר ִאים ִלי יֹו ֵאל,ָשלֹום
My uncle is Yair הדֹוד ֶּש ִלי הּוא ָי ִאיר
Yair is Chana's brother ָי ִאיר הּוא ָה ָאח ֶּשל ַח ָנה
And Rivka's husband
He is Gershon's son ְו ַה ַב ַעל ֶּשל ִר ְב ָקה
Yair is the father of Itzik, הּוא ַה ֵבן ֶּשל ֵג ְרשֹון
Dovi and Adina ,ָי ִאיר הּוא ָה ַא ָבא ֶּשל ִאי ִציק
And he is Michael's grandfather דֹו ִבי ַו ֲע ִדי ָנה
Yair lives in Haifa ְוהּוא ַה ַס ָבא ֶּשל ִמי ָכ ֵאל
He speaks Hebrew
He knows math ָי ִאיר ָגר ְב ֵחי ָפה
He does not understand Russian הּוא ְמ ַד ֵבר ִע ְב ִרית
הּוא יֹו ֵד ַע ָמ ֵת ָמ ִטי ָקה
הּוא ל ֹא ֵמ ִבין רּו ִסית
Remember: “The” - “ ”הin Hebrew (unlike in French) does not change with
the gender.
