English translation

Every room had a "Muchtar"1. The Muchtar was the manager of the room.
Usually it was the strongest prisoner in the room. The Muchtar received a
little more things such as a little more cigarettes a little more freedom. He
had other uniforms and he had a bed and not a cold mattress on the floor.
The life in the prison was very hard:

   1) At night they slept on a very thin mattress in the cold nights of
      Jerusalem.

   2) The food was two bland meals a day, every day the same food.
   3) There were no bathrooms, there was a bucket for every prisoner with

no privacy and with out sanitizing.
Everyday the prisoners worked until 4 in the afternoon and from 4 on the
afternoon until 5:30 in the morning they had to be in the room without
going out.
The Jewish prisoners learnt, wrote and did nice work during this time. The
families were able to visit them only once every two months for duration of
a quarter of an hour and from a distance without getting close. This was the
life in prison.
