SERVING OUR COMMUNITY
We are proud of our reputation for Service
to the community, which is a strong feature
of our School. The students taking the
lead role in organising each charity drive
through their School captaincy roles, their
SRC roles or through their school House.
The major fundraisers include, but are
not limited to Junction 142 (Katoomba),
STEPtember, Beanies4Brain Cancer,
Bandana Day, Pink Day (McGrath
Foundation), White Ribbon Day, Anglicare,
Movember and Compassion Australia,
together with those supported by the
annual 45km Walk (see previous page).
Over the last year, Pitt House has
facilitated a Social Outreach program,
run at the local Wentworth Falls Anglican
church, Holy Trinity.
The program runs every second Friday
morning from 8:30am to10:30am at the
local Anglican church, and the students
undertake a variety of jobs such as helping
out with the Anglicare Van, the Charity
shop or in the café.
This program, as with all our House-driven
charity drives, is an excellent opportunity
for our students to help those in need in
our local community, and it forms part of
the Service Hours we ask our students to

MAEVE SHAVES FOR A CURE
MAEVE SHA
VES FOR A CURE
In June, before all the students at a Senior School Assembly, Maeve Magner (Year 12) took the brave step
of shaving her long locks in support of this year’s Shave for a Cure campaign. In a wonderful result, Maeve
exceeded her fundraising goal of $1,000!
The Shave was conducted by our Chaplain, Mr Webb, and Maeve
was supported by her closest friends, and cheered on with
admiration by the Senior School students. Bravo, Maeve!
