HEAD OF SPORT HONOURED BY ISA
HEAD OF SPOR
The Peter Cornish Award is presented in recognition of the
expertise, time and dedication seen in staff from ISA schools who
actively promote the development of sport at all levels from school
to national representation.
In November, at the ISA Heads of School and Heads of Sport Annual
Dinner, and in recognition of “her dedication, and an extraordinary
commitment to the development of sports, particularly Basketball at
all levels”, Mrs Harris was presented with the Peter Cornish Award
by ISA Life Member, Mr Phillip Heath (Headmaster, Barker College).
The citation read on the night is published below:
Megan has exhibited an exceptional level of dedication and leadership
within the ISA. For seven years, Megan has served as the Head of Sport
at Blue Mountain Grammar School, leaving an incredible mark on the
school and their students.
Megan’s contributions extend further to her roles as the ISA
Representative Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Convenor, where she served
for a remarkable 16 years continuously across both programs.
In addition to her role as Convenor, Megan also managed the ISA Representative Boys’ Basketball 1st V and 2nd V
teams. ISA Basketball has been enriched from her efforts and commitment.
Megan’s commitment to Basketball extends beyond ISA, with multiple roles with NSWCIS. Most recently as
the NSWCIS Boys Basketball Convenor for the past three years. In 2023 Megan was the NSW All Schools Girls’
Basketball Manager enjoying success at the School Sport Australia Championships. Megan is held in high regard
across the Basketball community and her passion for the sport shines through.
Megan Harris’s contributions and unwavering dedication make her a true embodiment of the values of the Peter
Cornish Award.
We congratulate Mrs Harris on receiving this prestigious honour.
