MH: Growing up, I was a shy girl, and everything I wanted to say, all my
emotions, I put them on paper. I was obsessed with French and Haitian
literature, and I think that seeped through my writings. In 2012, I published
a collection of these poems I wrote in my teenage years. They were quite
dark. I was literally questioning my existence and society’s dysfunctionality.
Going through that process prepared me for writing songs when the time
came. As for fashion, my mother is a seamstress, and it was always a given
that no one can live the house without looking impeccable. As a little girl I
used fabric scraps to create outfits for my dolls and when I became a

TB: What can your fans look forward to in 2023 from Miu Haiti?
MH: I’m looking forward to my fans’ reaction to my upcoming project. I don’t
want to say too much but it’s due in the season where the flowers bloom.
