The great thing about working concert photography is that I learn so much about each band, artist,
and the performers I work with. And with tonight’s artist, I learned that Los Tigres del Norte (The
Tigers of the North) are a Norteño band from San Jose, California, that originally started
in Mocorito Sinaloa, Mexico, in 1968, while the brothers and cousins were still teens. With 60 million
albums sold, this group is one of the most recognized groups in their genre. The band is famous for
its political corridos (ballads or folk song), some of which have been censored. Los Tigres Del Norte
is the only Mexican group to win 6 Grammy Awards and 12 Latin Grammys. And on top of all that,
the band has made 40 films.
