Los Tigres del Norte astounded the audience
at AVA Amphitheater in Tucson, AZ,
dazzling for almost 2 and a half hours with
more than 40 songs, including some of their
award-winning timeless songs. Before the
band came out, 5 music videos of the band
were shown on the large back screen.
People went wild as each video played.
Then finally, from left and right of the stage,
these 5 legendary artists came on stage. I
have never heard the accordion played so
loud! Even the saxophone rumbled my
chest! These guys came out to conquer
Arizona and they definitely put me in awe. I
was caught off guard for sure. Dressed in
shiny uniformed Norteño suits and with
silvery leaves on their boots, Los Tigres
(Jorge, Hernán, Eduardo, and Luis
Hernandez), along with Oscar Lara, came
out on fire, and captivated the audience with
many popular songs. They started off with
“Jefe de Jefes” and continued with other
hits, such as “La Banda del Carro Rojo,” and
my favorite, “La reunión,” along with some
love songs like “Golpes en el Corazón,” and
“Prisión de amor,” among others, finishing
up with “América.” The show was long, and
it finished well past my bedtime (around
11:00 p.m.).
I did see that the love between the Los
Tigres Del Norte and their fans is obvious
and there is a mutual respect. Although its
members are now older, their voices are still
strong and their music itself was as solid as
ever. The long wait was well worth it!
