Dusk Music Festival is an annual music and arts festival held at Armory Park in Tucson,
Arizona. Founded by Steve Stratigouleas, John Rallis, Page Repp, and Pete Turner in 2016,
Dusk Music Festival showcases internationally-known musical artists as well as local artists
from Arizona. With the event being 3 years in, this festival is bigger than ever.
Dusk features many genres of music, including rock, indie, hip hop, and electronic dance
music, as well as art booths and sculptures, including an art mural and a cactus garden.
Other activities include beer gardens and local food booths. The Dusk Stage hosts live music
throughout the day and food is served exclusively by local Tucson restaurants.
This two-day festival included performances by some of my favorite new artists, along with
artists local from Arizona. The air surrounding the festivities was wafting with an odorous
mixture of Carne Asada and Mary Jane as I made my way through the throngs of festival-
goers -- lots of friendly and willing people eager to get their picture taken. Security was
squeaky-tight. For me, that meant a media check first, then a jaunt to another area of the
festival with a total of three security check-in points before walking into the festival grounds.
That was about a 30-minute process!
