TB: The American Cancer Society used the music video of your song ‘In It Together’ in a national

Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign. With Heather being a breast cancer survivor, how big of
an honor was it for you have the song be used by them?

Heather: When fighting cancer, every moment of every day becomes filled with treatments, medicines,
research, decisions, appointments, etc. After a year and a half, I was told that I could consider myself cancer
free, and then all of the things that occupied our days dropped off. About a week into this, Mat and I found
ourselves in sort of a funk because we no longer had the previous collective all-encompassing purpose of
battling cancer occupying our days. So, we decided to focus all of our energy into helping others going through
this. We wrote ‘In It Together,’ which was inspired by the beautiful community of supportive people we came
to know during our cancer battle. To have The American Cancer Society immediately fall in love with the song
and video and ask to use both in a fundraising and awareness campaign, just took ‘In It Together’ to another
other level! Everything we both endured is now helping others. We couldn't ask for a more meaningful result,
and the honor is immeasurable.
