Lindsay Ann Snyder.: Tell the readers of ION Indie Magazine
about how the band was formed.

Dim: We’ve all been friends and in and out of each other’s lives
for the past 10 years. In 2017, Ben, Nick, and Matt had a music
project together that never fully took off. Due to life’s
circumstances, the guys split ways for a little bit. Ben continued
writing and touring with a band called The Dangerous Summer
and during his down time at home, would continue to jam and
write with Nick. Ben and Nick eventually pulled Charlie in, and
the guys shortly began seeking out a vocalist. Step into 2020,
life hit pause. In early 2020, Ben quit The Dangerous Summer
and they all reached back out to Matt to see if he’d like to check
out what they continued to work on over the last few years.
Instantly things clicked again…the guys were back together! We
began writing twice a week and within a few months, had enough
material ready to begin recording a full album. Fast forward to
2021…you now have our debut album ‘from dark to light we’ll
see’ ready for the world to hear!

L.S.: With the pandemic causing the demise of many bands
and artistic projects, you decided this was a great time to
form a brand-new band. Why start a band in the year 2020?

Dim: This was the absolute perfect time to begin writing new
music. The world was filled with fear and decided to pause
everyone’s reality. However, our reality will always be filled with
music. This was the perfect opportunity to use our time to solely
focus on what we love most and what truly gives us all life.

L.S.: What is the meaning behind the name of the band…
          ‘Dim?’

Dim: Well, to look back on 2020 and even the few years before,
the world to us seemed a little ‘dim.’ We were all going through
our own things…facing our shadows and diving into who we all
were and what we should be doing. We see the band as being
the light into the dawn/darkness; ‘dim’ being the state before the
light takes over and shines for all to see.

L.S.: Share a bit about the members of the band, their
          background, and musical influences.
