We arrived at the last band, but by no means, the least…and that would be Zoe Schwarz Blue Commotion. This is
another band that I have seen on many occasions and also my closest “neighbour” out of the five bands, with them
hailing from Dorset. Singer Zoe serenaded the receptive crowd with her own brand of classy jazzy blues (or is it bluesy

jazz?), backed by the stylish Rob Koral on guitar. Zoe`s latest album “This is the Life I Choose” sums up what all these
bands are trying to do with their musical endeavours. They put on a fantastic finale to a great afternoon’s entertainment
that I believe all who have played in this historic building throughout the decades would have been proud to witness.

So besides The Beatles, we can now add to the repertoire of notable groups who have graced the Cavern Club’s stages
– Elles Bailey, The Rainbreakers, The Robert J Hunter Band, LaVendore Rogue and Zoe Schwarz Blue Commotion.

Now it was in the hands of the judges to determine which band will represent the UK in Memphis, TN for The
International Blues Challenge and Hell, Norway in 2018. After various acknowledgments were made and the one-minute
auction finished, the verdict was in! The baton was passed and the trophy was handed over by Kaz Hawkins to
LaVendore Rogue -- to a loudly appreciative crowd, who echoed their agreement with the judges’ decision. LaVendore
Rogue took the stage for a few more numbers before being joined onstage by Kaz Hawkins, Connie Lush, Kyla Brox,

and her father Victor Brox, who is a real legend in these parts.
