Tim Board: How did The Heels get started? How did the group form?

The Heels: The Heels, comprised of Bobbi, Brittni, and Kyla, took flight in 2016 within the vibrant
walls of Buddha-Full, a vegan restaurant in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Kyla,

the restaurant owner, enlisted Brittni as a barista, while Bobbi was a regular customer working in

the neighborhood. Each having a passion for music and solo music career, they transformed their
hours after work into moments of creative inspiration. Bonded by a shared love for country music,

Brittni, a friendly face behind the counter, and Bobbi, a devoted regular customer found
themselves entwined in the rhythm of fate. Kyla and Brittni, already harmonizing on cafe shifts,

sought a third member to complete their trio. As destiny unfolded and as Bobbi had embarked on

a ‘year of yes,’ a commitment to embrace every opportunity led to a serendipitous invitation from
Kyla that she accepted. The three gathered as social acquaintances and instantly turned

bandmates for an upcoming show just six days later, forming The Heels, a name resonating with
Bobbi’s love for high heels but born from the trio's shared feelings of healing found in the musical

union. The first meeting in 2016 laid the foundation, leading to the release of the debut album,
‘Love, Heels,’ in 2017, and the second, ‘I Am,’ in 2021. The musical odyssey has carried The

Heels across North America, gracing stages and festivals, including the pinnacle – the Grand Ole

           Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee.

TB: How did you decide on the band name The Heels?

TH: As fate orchestrated the musical union, The Heels, a country trio with a mission to heal

themselves and the world through music chose the name The Heels during a soulful conversation
where the band discovered a shared aspiration to infuse music with more than just melodies.

United by a profound desire to contribute to the well-being of the listeners.

TB: The group released its debut album ‘Love, Heels’ in 2017. How long had you been

           working on the album?

TH: The writing and recording process of ‘Love, Heels’ began immediately after forming The

Heels in 2016. With co-writes and production meetings with some of Canada’s top songwriters
and awarded producers the trio gathered their strongest songs that had mended their own

personal hurts and heartbreaks to offer the same healing and empowerment to listeners.
