Mezcal or Tequila? If I had to describe why I love the music of Armando
Moreno & The Revival, I would have to answer because I love the sounds
of Kings of Leon, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, The Meat Puppets,
Jimmy Eat World, and Gin Blossoms. And now, Armando Moreno & The
Revival…Arizona’s next big thing!
They have been labeled as country rock/southern rock, but I know they are
so much bigger than that. Armando’s journey began as a 15-year-old kid
listening to the talents of Eddie Van Halen, The Beatles, Extreme, and
Jellyfish.
In 2015, Armando recorded a tribute album to his mother, Marta Ortiz
Moreno, who sadly passed away in 2013. Armando composed and wrote all
the songs on the album, and as he finished it, it brought him the healing that
he needed to begin living again. Many years fast-forward, Armando and
band are now ripping up the stages of Arizona. The band has some really
cool shows coming up in September, one in Tucson and one in Bisbee.
So back to my question…Mezcal or Tequila? This topic was one of many
short conversations Armando and I had while working on this interview. He’s
Tequila. I’m Mezcal. Both are perfect while listening to the music of Armando
Moreno & The Revival.
