Paulina Rubio's setlist included
heartbreak of "Te quise tanto," the
feminist stance of "Yo no soy esa
mujer," the vulnerability in "Tal vez,
quizás." She mentioned her
intermittent crossover career with
English-language singles "Don't Say
Goodbye" and "Boys Will be Boys,"
songs that deserved to be much bigger
hits but for whatever reason, no.
Paulina Rubio is at her best, however,
when she's combining the traditional
ranchera with her pop hooks and
dance and hip-hop production. Her
signature on songs "El ultimo adios,"
"Ni rosas ni juguetes," and "Dame otro
tequila” didn’t disappoint. I didn’t know
but she apparently performed a cover
of Los Tigres del Norte's "Golpes en el
corazon.”
