A band from the “across the pond,” Bones UK, opened up the show. They somewhat
reminded me of The White Stripes. They were fun, but I was there for The Smashing
Pumpkins. After a twenty minute wait, The Smashing Pumpkins were on and started
their set with opening tune, “Colour Of Love” from their most recent album, 2020’s “Cyr.”
The founding members Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, and James Iha did not
disappoint their fans on Sunday night, May 15, 2022, at AVA Amphitheater in Tucson,
playing songs from the group’s inception through 2000: “Gish,” “Siamese Dream,”
“Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness,” “Adore,” and “Machina.”
