I will say that I have never been a rabid fan of SP, but after the first song, I fell in love
with every single one that they performed. I’m now a brand-new fan of the band and
their music! However, apparently, I missed one of their music selections. I left the
amphitheater after what I thought was the last song, “1979.” I later heard they performed
an encore! That one is on me.

The Smashing Pumpkins tours can be tough to pull off and this alternative band known
most for their hits “Zero,” “Today,” “Bullet With Butterfly Wings,” and “1979,” did not
struggle with ticket sales. Watching the movie backdrop behind-the-band gave the
concert a poetic insight into Billy Corgan’s mindset. 55-year-old Cougan, dressed in all-
black, looking a bit like something out of The Addams Family TV show, was in his
element and commanded the stage!
