Chris went on to say that his writing process has evolved
from writing alone in his bedroom to writing alone in his
room then bringing the work to a co-writer with which he’s
formed a close relationship. Moreno said he’s learned
over the past few years it’s important to find a close group
that he can bring original ideas to while maintaining his
own sound. “It’s the nuances that make a difference…the
original sound is what brings people back,” Moreno said
to ION Indie Magazine.

Letting his song ideas and lyrics come organically is
important to Chris. He admits that he has a lot of partially
written songs in his voice memo section on his phone and
in his notes section so he can add to them whenever he’s
inspired.

Chris leveraged the social media app TikTok to showcase
the music off of “Coming Up Roses.” He credits his
presence on TikTok to helping get over four million
streams of the single “Used to This” on Spotify. “That
song really hit with fans,” Moreno said with a smile.
