"Vocalist Solitaire Miles sings with warm highs and holds her lows neatly. There's a jazziness about
Miles's phrasing, but she holds fast to a sound reminiscent of roadside bars where just three
people are left near closing at the pinball machine.” - Wall Street Journal
You might not expect to encounter Western Swing and Rockabilly coming from Chicago, but
singer Solitaire Miles is doing just that with her fabulous group of talented musicians, Susie Blue
and the Lonesome Fellas.
Before I go on, if you are confused who "Susie Blue" and "Solitaire Miles" are, I am referring to
the same person. Solitaire was named after her great-grandmother but earned the nickname of
"Susie" because it was easier to pronounce. So, she is used to being called both names, but "Susie
Blue" just seemed like a cool name for a Retro Western Swing singer!
