And then it was Billy Idols’ turn.
The best part of concerts is when
the band comes out first and I can
see the vocalist standing behind
the amps, waiting to come out
seconds later. So was the case for
Billy -- I could see him ready to
explode onto the stage!
Never having seen Billy perform in
his earlier years, his set-list was a
trip down MTV memory lane for me,
and for sure, his fans. He featured
his classic hits, such as “Dancin’
With Myself,” “Eyes Without a
Face,” “Flesh for Fantasy,” “Cradle
of Love,” and “Mony Mony.” And of
course, no Billy Idol concert would
be complete without the iconic
anthem “Rebel Yell,” which was part
of his encore. But when the opening
bars of “Dancin’ With Myself” rang
out, the crowd erupted with
enthusiasm. It was such a cool
feeling having Billy Idol parked right
in front of me for his whole
performance.
