Hailing from the streets of Los Angeles and formed in 2004, The Chimpz are
a down-to-earth, high-energy, fun group of guys. Their music, genre-wise,
brings a mix of modern rock and hip hop. Their songs are described as a
“street-savvy chronicle of their musical journey through the hustle and flow of
life in L.A.”
Since their inception, the band has garnered significant notoriety, receiving
substantial placements, media coverage, and airplay. At Rocklahoma 2014,
they introduced "Battlegrounds,” the official theme song for BattleGrounds
MMA, a Tulsa, Oklahoma Mixed Martial Arts organization. In June 2014, the
quintet performed the track as they walked to the sparring cage at the
Battlegrounds O.N.E. Tournament, which was held in the BOK Center.
The Chimpz’ songs have been featured in several episodes of FX’s “Sons of
Anarchy.” Also, their music is featured in 5 episodes of Season 3 on “Lucha
Underground,” and in every episode of MTV’s “Bam Margera’s Unholy Union,”
“The Challenge,” MTV’s “Real World,” Fox Sports, Animal Planet’s “My Cat
From Hell,” Action Sports TV show “Adrenalina,” and a host of others.
Recently, I had the pleasure to conduct an in-depth interview with this exciting
band with the innovative sound…The Chimpz.
