Courtney Ludwig: Tell me a little bit about the band? How was the band was formed
and who are the current members?

The Chimpz: The Chimpz were born in 2004 when Sean Topham met Artimus Prime (lead
singer/ rhythm guitar). They met through a mutual friend’s party and started jamming a

couple of the songs that ended up on our first album. Current members are Artimus Prime
(vox, guitar), Chuck P. (MC, rap vocals), Doug Weiand (lead guitar), Shawn "Sonic" Lyon
               (bass), and Sean Topham (drums).

CL: Who inspired you to be a part of the music Industry?

TC: We all have different influences that inspired us to play music. Sean was inspired by
rock and some iconic drummers as a young kid (Led Zep, Rush, Cheap Trick, Sabbath).
Art and Chuck were more inspired by rap and hip hop. Sonic and Doug were more inspired
by heavy metal and very heavy bands.

CL: What is the biggest problem that the band has encountered in this journey of
               music?

TC: The biggest problem we have encountered in the music business besides getting paid

and breaking down all over the country while on tour is COVID-19 absolutely killing the
live show industry. We miss playing in front of a live audience! We have no idea if venues
will be able to survive this and what will the new normal be when things get back to

               ‘normal.’

CL: What is the best song The Chimpz ever released and why?

TC: We believe that our new single ‘Not Enough’ is the best song and video we have ever

released to date! If you haven't heard it, please check it out on YouTube or streaming on
               most media platforms.

CL: Does anyone in the band give music lessons? If so, what band member?

TC: Currently, none of the members are giving lessons, but would possibly be open to the
               idea.
