National Safety Awards Reception

Come one, come all, and celebrate area environmental and safety
champions at the Golden Eagle and NSAA Safety Awards reception
from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 6. Enjoy a beverage as we
announce the well-deserved winners of this year’s awards and give
them their trophies.
Established in 1993, the Golden Eagle Awards for
Environmental Excellence recognize the environmental
achievements of ski areas and an individual Hero of
Sustainability. The awards are sponsored by SKI Magazine.
Judges for this year’s awards are: Judy Dorsey, Brendle
Group; Tiffany Beal, International Mountain Bicycling Association;
Chris Steinkamp, Protect Our Winters (POW); Andy Hawk and
Greg Ditrinco, SKI Magazine; Kevin Kassekert, Tesla Motors, Inc.;
Don Dressler, USDA – Forest Service; and Matthew Banks, World
Wildlife Fund.
The NSAA National Safety Awards, sponsored by
Safehold/Special Risk, recognize those areas and individuals that
have put together outstanding programs focused on employee and
guest safety. Our hand-picked panel of esteemed industry judges
thoroughly reviewed each entry with a fine toothed comb to identify
the best of the best. Winners are chosen in the following categories:
• Best Overall Safety Program (for resorts with visits up to
350,000 visits and resorts with 350,000 or more visits)
• Best Employee Safety Program
• Best Guest Safety Program
• Best Kids on Lifts Safety Program
• Area Safety Champion
