LMC GENERALCOMMUNITY
LMC LADIES
IN LOCKDOWN
.
Wedding anniversaries were announced, and two ladies discovered that they shared their 48th anniversaries on 6th May 2020. Incredible that they both said'I do!'on the same day all those years ago! Sadly, neither could visit a restaurant, and so the group suggestion was to have a tapas and a drink on each terrace and enjoy the views!
?I'm a bit unsure because my husband has offered to cook!'
One lady became a grandma, and although she couldn't cuddle her little grandson until Sunday, 24th May, the pictures she sent of a new baby were particularly joyful. Others, whose grandchildren were old enough to do something other than look cute, sent pictures of what their 'little ones' were up to. These included painting rainbows, fishing in the garden stream and a photograph of holding up the sun!
VEDay and Remembrance Day found everyone still in lockdown, and it was a Canadian lady who posted the famous Vera Lynn verse on the group chat. 'We'llmeet again, don't know where, don't know when'was quite poignant, as was the odd combination of celebrating 75 years of peace in
Sally Francis
Europe alongside a coronaviruspandemic.
"Today,Iwasimagining how excited mymothermust have been 75 years ago, knowing that my father would be returning home."
Those who took to their gardens and fields provided the most fabulous colour, and it is impossible to list them all. However, cherry blossom from Ayr, wild garlic from Wales, wisteria from Jersey, wildflowers from Spain and roses from just about everywhere, all featured.
At 5.00pm on Stage 1, Saturday the Ladies in Lockdown raised their glasses(asthey would have at the Owners Clubhouse) and shared their selfies (although those who hadn't been able to have their hair done didn't dare!).
