7. The company (your employer) a company has a mid level vacancy
for a person to supervise its sales. You apply, you are shortlisted and
then called for interview. One of the questions at the interview is,
‘What are your goals’?
You pick out the paper you have written down your goals and give it
to the interviewers and tell them… “These are my goals, if you give me
this job, I’ll give you 1, 2, 3…” You are asked, “How much do you
expect us to pay you”? You tell them ….. “In my list of goals, I wanted
to make $1,000 per month with my commission sales job. I’ll be
grateful if you offer me the same ($1,000 per month). It will give me
the opportunity to lay further goals for the success of this company”.
You impress the interviewers and you get the job.
The above case is an exposition and an example of how some people
triumphed from poverty to success. Never despair or believe that all is
lost. For a person with vision and goals, it is never too late. This does
not mean that you should not act early and in time. You should be
vigilant to make use of any chance or opportunity which may arise.
