and Bosch’s eco-friendly DualClean system, which actually cleans the
oven during the cooking process itself. Slim Fit, Full Functions. Bosch’s 24-inch wall oven features 10 cooking
modes, dual-level flexible broiling and self-cleaning technology.
The 24-inch laundry pair, which is Energy Star qualified, includes
both stackable and side-by-side models. The ventless condensation
dryer requires no ducting, thereby reducing the unit’s overall
footprint and offering more flexibility, since it can be placed against
interior walls.

Combining high-end technology with these smaller-sized units,
Bosch will be incorporating its AquaStop Plus leak protection system
with the 24-inch washer series.

“The feature detects leaks in the base of the unit and immediately
shuts down operation while automatically pumping out water, so that
it does not make contact with the floor of the unit,” explains Kenny.
Claimed to provide 100 percent protection against water damage,
Bosch guarantees leak-free performance for the life of the appliance.

Bosch sees its newer compact appliance line as a solution that addresses
the needs of various multi-family projects and secondary spaces.

“The response from builders and consumers has been
overwhelmingly positive,” relates Kenny. “We believe that small
spaces deserve good design and premium performance when it
comes to appliances, and consumers agree, often sharing their delight
to finally have a premium option for smaller spaces.” GB

principle “form follows function.” Designs

in this tradition are characterized by

simplicity, unity and utilitarianism.

For example, the SideOpening wall oven

door—which, just as it sounds, opens from

the side—is a practical, convenient and

ergonomic solution. It is available as part

of Bosch’s Benchmark line.

“The reaction we see most often the first

time people experience the SideOpening CREDIT: BOSCH HOME APPLIANCES

Dan Kenny, director of brand marketing at

Bosch in Irvine, Calif.

Another Bauhaus-inspired Bosch

feature is its FlexInduction technology

for its Induction cooktops. Described by

Kenny as a simple solution that brings consumers peace of placed on the zone. Induction cooktops offer other advantages

mind, FlexInduction can combine two cooking zones into one as well. They transfer heat directly to pots and pans using an

continuous surface. This way, the FlexInduction region responds electromagnetic field, so the cooktop itself stays relatively cool,

to “demand,” whether several small pots or one large griddle is and very little heat is lost.
