Reasons For NOT Joining
Q24. And, what is the biggest reason for NOT joining?

a) Course/Practice Facility
• Thick rough around the greens and just off the fairways gives me nightmares.
• Tough course for beginners. Not great f/b.
• Course conditions outside of summer.
• No covered practice area.
• Course difficulty.
• Too hard a walk.
• Hilly.
• Tough walk.
• From everyone that I've talked to, it's too tough to walk/play.
• Optics are a thing - some of the small things seem to be an easy fix. Happy to expand if required.

b) Membership
• Cost is always a problem for any course.
• As elsewhere golf membership can be expensive.
• Price.
• The playing restrictions if you are an intermediate vs a full member. 12:00 in the winter makes it
hard/impossible to play 18 holes.
• Cost, if not committed to playing regularly.

c) Clubhouse/F&B
• Lack of Amenities
• The restaurant/lounge is not a great place to socialize outside of a post-round beverage. I would
love to come to the course for dinner or a drink on a day I wasn't golfing, but the atmosphere isn't
great.
• The clubhouse. Specifically, the staffing, food quality, selections. We should update everything. I
would go there weekly and happily pay more $$ if the overall quality was greatly improved.
• Snack shack issues, food n beverage quality.
• Parking lot needs attention.

d) General Club
• Not enough ladies, need a lady pro!
• No reason.
• Time commitment to play golf.
• Don't like to play golf (social member!).
• Golf is still an expensive game.
• Cart pricing for members.
• Apart from the course everything is pretty subpar.
