came together to discuss ‘ mi rati Wome n: Potential and Possibilities’
Wome n Advanceme nt Establishme nt (NAMA) in collaboration with the UAE General Wome n’s Union, which shed light on the
need for stronger enforceme nt of legislations to enable wome n’s participation in the economy , especially in the private and
.non-traditional sectors
Emp hasising on the need for reliable statistics and studies as a reference point for the creation of laws, which will tackle the
specific requireme nts of wome n in the nation, Reem BinKaram, Director of NAMA Wome n Advanceme nt Establishme nt, said
in her opening keynote: “I believe the solution lies in, first, generating detailed and recent data about wome n, and then
sharing it with relevant bodies and authorities, me asuring wome n’s contributions to various economi c sectors vis-à-vis their
status in various work environme nts – be it mi nistries, SME support organisations, economi c developme nt departme nts,
