                                          (kant‘eł), a bowl in glass or silver, in which
                                          oil  is  burned,  is  hung  over  the  altar  or  an
                                          image;  the  censer  (burvar˙)  is  a  bowl  sus-
                                          pended by three chains, and holds the burn-
                                          ing  incense;  another  bowl  holds  the  extra
                                          incense (xnkaman); the flabellum (k‘šoc‘) is a
                                          disc of silver surrounded with small bells, a
                                          musical  instrument  used  mainly  during  the
                                          Holy Mass; the cymbal (cencła) is a musical
                                          instrument  composed  of  two  identical  con-
                                          cave brass plates; the muron dove (aławni) is
                                          a  dove-shaped  holy  muron  container;  the
                                          flagon  (bažakaman)  is  a  vessel  that  contains
                                          the  wine  offered during the  Holy Mass;  the
                                          paten (małzmay) is a flat plate, placed on the
                                          chalice; the pendant (panakē), with a picture

                                          the  pectoral  cross  (lanˇjaxač‘)  is  worn  on
                                          the  chest  by  the  clergy  of  all  ranks;  the
                                          ring  (matani)  is  worn  by  the  bishop  on  the
                                          little finger of the right hand and by the ca-
                                          tholicos on the ring finger; the large proces-
                                          sional  cross  (t‘ap‘ōri  xač‘)  is  carried  at  the
                                          head  of  processions;  the  eucharist  stamp
                                          (nəšxari kałapar) is used for the preparation
                                          of  the  eucharistic  bread  (nəšxar);  the  pyxis
                                          (masnatup‘)  is  a  small  silver  box  in  which
                                          pieces  of  the  consecrated  host  are  kept;  the
