has followed the Gregorian calendar; the
only exception is the Armenian Church in
Jerusalem, which organizes the celebrations
in Holy Places at appointed times according
to established traditions.
The following aspects of Armenian
spirituality deserve particular attention:
a) Simplicity and coherence are the most
significant features of Armenian spirituality;
they generate a living dialogue and spiritual
communion between the faithful and God.
b) Dynamic interconnection between mat-
ter and spirit, the visible and the invisible,
and the worldly and the unworldly provides
a holistic character to spirituality.
c) Armenian spirituality is eco-centered;
all aspects and elements of creation are
harmoniously integrated to all the forms,
practices, and expressions of spirituality.
d) Armenian spirituality is not, strictly
speaking, liturgy-centred. It transcends the
liturgical confines to embrace both the per-
