In conclusion then, it is obvious that Jesus took the role of a prophet in history, a culture
critic and a herald of the coming Kingdom of God. He also expounded in his preaching a new
ethic and attitude of the heart with a fresh interpretation of the Law. The roles of a preacher are,
therefore, that of a herald of the Good News of God revealed in Jesus Christ, that of a prophet to
a society, and that of a teacher of the Scripture.
