Accident insurance benefits overview
This overview shows just a few of the benefits for accidental injuries available on all three plan levels: Basic, Preferred and Premier.
Actual benefit amounts vary based on the plan level selected.
Provides a benefit when a covered person is injured and treated by a physician in a hospital emergency
Accident emergency treatment
room, urgent care facility or physician’s office.
Accident follow-up treatment Provides a benefit for a follow-up physician’s office visit, transportation to the visit or a telemedicine visit.
Provides a benefit for accidental death or loss (or loss of use) of hand, arm, foot, leg, sight of an eye,
Accidental death & dismemberment
finger or toe.
Ambulance Provides a benefit for transportation in a ground, water or air ambulance.
Provides a benefit for surgical or non-surgical correction (with anesthesia, for dislocations) by a physician.
Dislocations and fractures
Incomplete dislocations and chip fractures are covered at 25% of the relevant amount.
Hospital admission Provides a benefit if an insured person is admitted to the hospital for a covered injury.
Provides a daily benefit for a stay in a hospital, sub-acute intensive care unit or intensive care unit.
Hospital confinement
Observation-room benefits are also available.
Provides a benefit for devices used to help patients recover from an accident. Examples include arm sling,

neck brace, crutches, walking boot, knee scooter and electric scooter.
Medical imaging study Provides a benefit for studies including CT, CAT Scan, EEG, MR and MRI.
Provides a benefit for surgeries, including (but not limited to) cranial, abdominal, hernia, exploratory and

Provides a $1,000 or $5,000 benefit for a non-fatal gunshot wound from an on-job or off-job accident.

Available for employees only.
Wellbeing assistance — standard Provides one benefit per covered person per calendar year for 24 different health screening tests.
