Clare Camogie Data Protection Officer’s Report 2020
GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is now an integral part of everything we do and
affects anybody who is in possession of personal data about somebody else.
During the year we had no complaints in relation to potential breaches of GDPR that we had to
deal with.
It is good practice to question the necessity of all data we hold on a regular basis and delete
whatever is no longer necessary.
We are now in a period of handing over responsibilities from outgoing officers and mentors to
incoming officers and mentors. In that period we have to ensure that all relevant data are
passed on to the next person and that the outgoing person afterwards deletes all data in their
possession.
Adhering to these simple procedures will help avoiding any difficulties with GDPR going
forward.
I would like to thank all clubs for their efforts to adhere to the rules of GDPR and encourage
them to continue keeping a watchful eye on all personal data that are collected within the club
to ensure full compliance with GDPR at all times.
