B ORGANIZING THE BODY
The BODY of your essay contains all of your important details. There are
three strategies to organize the BODY:
• Compare/Contrast: You can show similarities and differences.
• Order: You can list details in order of importance or time.
• Example: You can show vivid examples of your main idea.
EXAMPLE Look at how all 3 strategies are used below.
Topic Sentence: People who go to school are more successful.
Compare / On the other hand, people who do not go to school
Contrast often struggle.These people find it hard to get good jobs.
Order First of all, school is important for learning knowledge.
Example Also, school teaches you how to get along with other people.
For example, my uncle went to school and to university.
Today, he has a good job and makes a lot of money.
