A PARAGRAPH is a group of sentences that tells about one main idea.

A PARAGRAPH should have:
• BEGINNING — to give readers an idea of your topic (TOPIC SENTENCE)
• MIDDLE — to give interesting information about your topic (DETAILS)
• END — to tie your writing together (CONCLUSION)

EXAMPLE This is how most PARAGRAPHS are organized.

Skiing

skiing. Skiers glide their skis on a flat trail. Skiing is a sport that
people enjoy in different ways.
