NH Marathon Committee Honors
Karen Schaffnerand Annuounces their Donation of $44,250 to Newfound Area Nonprofits
  BRISTOL – The NH Mar- athon committee is proud to announce the presentation of three significant donations to local community initiatives. In addition, the committee hon- ored Karen Schaffner for her invaluable time and dedication as co-race director.
The NH Marathon commit- tee awarded $44,250 to three local nonprofit organizations at a post reception hosted by The
Homestead Restaurant in Bris- tol, NH this past November.
The post NH Marathon cer- emony celebrated its’ 31st year of fall, running and philan- thropy by donating to three area youth serving nonprofits: the Tapply-Thompson Community Center, The Mayhew Program, and Circle Program. Support from the NH marathon goes to help Newfound area youth’s year-round programming and
summer camps.
“We deeply appreciate our
sponsors for their unwaver- ing support each year. We’re delighted by the impressive turnout of runners across all categories this year and are eager to highlight the NH Marathon’s dedication to com- munity engagement.” explains co-race director Bob Watson.

committee recognized Karen Schaffner for her commitment as co-race director. After this year’s race, Karen has decided to step down to explore other volunteer opportunities.
“On behalf of the NH Mara- thon Committee, I am honored to recognize Karen Schaffner for her invaluable time and dedication as co-race director,” said Cindy Williams, committee Treasurer. “Her commitment has played a crucial role in the marathon’s success, helping it reach high numbers of runners and generating significant fi- nancial support for community youth programs. We are deeply grateful for her years of ser- vice.”
The NH Marathon commit- tee started to prepare for this year’s race day, which is slated for Saturday, October 4th, 2025!
