HEBRON — On November 11th, a large group of citizens gathered on the Hebron Com- mon for a ceremony honoring veterans for their service to the country and the sacrifices they and their families have made in the name of freedom.
Leading off the Veterans Day program was Bagpiper Joe DeLuca, who led a procession of Scouts from Troop 50 along with their flag bearer, Levi Towne. DeLuca played a medley of an- thems for each of the country’s branches of service as the group made their way to the Common, finishing with “Amazing Grace” upon arrival at the town gazebo.
David Brittelli, president of the Hebron Historical Society, welcomed everyone to the His- torical Society’s 28th Veterans Day Ceremony. As he asked all veterans to raise their hands for special recognition, the crowd applauded not only them but gave another hearty round of applause for the town’s oldest veteran, 103-year-old Navy Lt.
