I thought about those guys on board that tank and I said to myself, “I
bet those are some crazy SOBs.”
Rock Pollard burst over the net, “Delta Company be advised first
elements are coming through the minefield. We are going to keep pushing
forward 200 meters and slow the speed. As you come through the minefield
let’s form it up Gents, Company Screen Line. Be advised Delta we are
definitely now in enemy territory and we are the tip of the spear. We are the
first in line. Delta One screen line to my right, intermingle TOWs throughout
your Platoon accordingly.”
1stLt G. Sadowski responded, “Solid Copy Delta 6. We are still
plowing through the minefield. We will come up on your right echelon once
through this bitch.”
“Copy Delta One. Delta Two, Delta Two, this is Delta 6 break off and
form up on my left, Company Screen Line.”
1stLt D. Kindle responded, “Solid copy Delta 6. We’re still standing by

Delta Two is set in place, HQ Platoon will form a combat wedge and maintain
center mass 50 meters to my direct six. Place Delta 8 center mass of the
wedge. Let’s go Delta, let’s get through the minefield, tighten it up and get

We’re almost out of this thing. Keep going. We gotta get outside of this.
Rock’s out there all by himself, let’s get up there and support. You heard the
order to form at his 8 o’clock, we will form a 2-vehicle wedge with Delta 5
and defend the left flank. Your job is to stay 50 meters behind Delta 5 at 8
o'clock.”
“Solid Copy Gunny, I can see it now. Just let me get through the
minefield and I will break into that formation.”
In the distance, the lane was marked finally with the two checked
