We treated the vanquished men with respect at every encounter, gave them food and water
          and told them to march south…and damn sure be waving those white flags aggressively.

                 Captain Rock Pollard and two other LAV-25s from 2nd Platoon were
          dismounting scouts and had weapons drawn on the first group of enemy
          prisoners. Vehicle Commanders in the turrets were manning the 7.62 pintle
          mount machine guns. The scouts were spreading the enemy prisoners out
          and telling them to get on the ground face down. One of the Kuwaiti
          interpreters was present and asking questions, interrogating several of the
          prisoners…obviously the officers of the now in custody troops.

                 GySgt Steven Dell said, “Let’s go over there, Witch….I want to be
          over there with the Skipper. Let’s try to find out what’s being said. Let’s see if
          these prisoners know something we need to know.” And with that, I hit the
          gas. We pulled up about 25 yards from the Captain. I put the vehicle in park,
          grabbed my M16A2 and I knew that Gunny had his Beretta 9mm pistol.
          Together we jumped from the vehicle and ran over to listen to the
          conversation between the interpreter and the detainees. The prisoners were
          talking wildly and more than one at a time. Finally, the Kuwaiti
          interpreter/officer that was working with us told them all to be quiet and
          speak only one at a time, and only when spoken to. His questions in Arabic
          were being answered in of course a language that we could not
