PURPOSE
To identify the ways in which the organization can and does succeed.
DESCRIPTION
Participants will be given a list of positive verbs and talk about the ways the team and organization does those things.
PARTICIPANTS Teams of 3 or 4
TIME 20 minutes
SUPPLIES
flipchart and markers, pens and paper
Steps:
• Write the following words on a flip chart so everyone can see them. Alternately, type them on a piece of paper and make copies for each group: Elevate, inspire, motivate, impact, accomplish, create, boost, contribute, delight and serve.
• Ask participants to break up into groups of 3 or 4. Present the verbs and ask teams to identify ways they actually do these things for elders and each other. For example: We delight Mrs. Johnson by bringing her a cup of coffee and the morning paper in bed.
• After 15 minutes bring the group back together and ask them to share some of their answers. Take two or three for each verb.
• Perhaps give people note cards with the words on them or post the list in the break room or household so everyone can be reminded of these goals.
