PURPOSE
To assist participants in recognizing the differ- ence between hierarchical management and team management. The experience provided helps the individuals discuss the differences and see how the ideas apply to the real world.
DESCRIPTION
An energizing exercise that can take place indoors or outdoors. Participants have to do a
task with feet tied together and managed by the “administrators.” The group then gets a chance to do it differently and discuss what makes sense about each way.
PARTICIPANTS 8 – 40

• Tell the rest of the participants that they have to tie their feet one to the next in a line. (cont.)
